»BLIM - Lost In Music

out on TCR

The Boy Lost In Music, otherwise known as Gervase Cooke serves up another platter of tough breaks, leading up to his latest album, "Lost In Music". And though it's out on a label associated with breakbeat, occasionally, this deviates from the blueprint.

'Skapurr' for example has skanking Two Tone undercurrents, whilst 'Loonies' is an exotic trip into melodicism with retro undercurrents. On a straighter note, 'Afrique' is a slow building stormer. Then there's his collaboration with 'Rennie Pilgrem', '2Freaks', a euphorically tight booty call if ever there was one. The bulk of 'Lost In Music' is about no frill, bass heavy breaks propulsion with gumption aplenty.

Overall this is a good album that is worth listening to, as it does give u the feeling of having "lost" in space. Chilled !!!
