Tempo presents Regenerate 5 @ Cyberjaya
Jan 25

The New Year celebrations have come and gone, and clubbers were out to look for something to revive their inner raver spirits. But the month of January only had a handful of parties to offer these searching souls. Thus it was no doubt that many of them would turn up for the fifth installment of Regenerate.

It was surpirising to see that many of the punters had arrived even before the stroke of midnight for the event. This was later uncovered to be the doing of the cheaper cover rates charged before 12am. This and the fact that Regenerate was the only big party of the month, led to an even bigger crowd turn out.

Used as a front to showcase local DJ talents, Regenerate once again proved to live up to its reputation. This time round the DJ line up was started off by Simon Beaumont, followed by none other than Suresh, Eugene, Brian aka Burger and to finish it all off Gabriel, who incidentally had just arrived back from Jakarta that day. These guys managed to blow the roof off (or atleast the mixer) as the party progressed throught the night.

It was good to see that by the time 12am rolled on by, that the punters had already invaded the dance floors. With the music blasting and the punters moving one could see that it was going to be an eventful night. Simon Beaumont started off the night with some hardy house tunes and slowly progressed into the more harder side of house. By the time it came to Suresh's turn to get behind the decks the party was already in full flight. Eventhough there were a few technical diffculties during his set Suresh kept on pumping out the beats.

At about 1am it was time for Eugene to take control of the decks and took the crowd to a higher level of 'Regeneration'. As Brian gradually took over the cheers from the cheers were ecstatic. Brian made no mistake by churning out the hardest and fastest techno tracks to keep the crowd in motion. It would seem that the techno that was being pumped out was far too much even for the mixer to handle. This eventually caused the mixer to blow and had to be replaced with a new one!! Eventually after 5 minutes of dead air and the relentless chanting of punters, the music came back on louder and harder than ever.

At about 4am it was time for Gabriel to take over from. His arrival was welcomed by the punters all around. It was then left up to him to wind down the party and to bring it to its eventual closure.  At about 5.35am, the music eventually ceased and not even the incessant chantings of the crowd could make it come back on. But it was felt that almost everyone who was present at the party went home went home happy.
