It has been a long time since local clubbers
had a taste of an outdoor event. But New Years
Eve changed all that, with most events going outdoors.
One of these events was the Regenerate NYE 2004
party held at the birthplace of the Regenerate
series, Century Square, Cyberjaya.

With all the hype that comes along with New Year's
Eve, there was also a lot to worry about. In the
case of Regenerate it was a question of whether
the local punters would make the trip out of the
city to partake in the festivities thrown by the
Tempo crew. Many of the clubbers didn't make it
for the countdown in Cyberjaya itself opting to
countdown somewhere else. Nevertheless the crowds
did come and they came in full force, filling
up the venue.

The night started of with DJ Roxy at the decks.
Her warm up set although short was indeed appropriate.
This was then taken a step further as the more
senior, Groovedoctor, stepped in to get the crowd
moving. As the time approached, the Groovedoctor
himself took to the microphone and started the
countdown. The scene turned to euphoria as the
punters started cheering ushering in the New Year.

Roughly around 12.30 am it was time for the electro
man, Ben Katana to take over. This he did with
force pumping out a unique blend of electro mixed
with a few hard pounding numbers. By this time
the dancefloor was packed with moving bodies.
By the time Joey G come on the decks, the party
was in full motion and there was no turning back.
Joey turned in a set totally different from his
normal 'proggy' set that you would normally hear
at Atmosphere.

As the time passed, the party didn't seem to
wane. At approximately 3 am it was Burger's turn
to take the helm of the decks. Without any delay
he pulled out all the stops and sent the crowd
into a frenzy pumping out the brand of techno
that has become his signature over the past few
years.
Roughly around 3.30 am though the music seemed
to stop and that was when the voice of the Groovedoctor
came on to announce the end of the party. This
came as a shock to many of the clubbers who were
under the impression that the party would continues
throughout the wee hours of the morning. But despite
this set back the party was one to remember.
